An angelic face, Rapunzel-like mane, bright smile and exceptional talent, Shweta Tiwariis definitely an actor that no one can forget. She is not just an actor who has a long list of work on her Wikipedia profile but she is a woman of substance and strength. Time and again, Shweta has excelled in all roles that life offered her and has always kept her head held high. Shweta, who at a young age, got married to Raja Chaudhary and had to face the brunt later in life. While the actor toiled hard on her sets (Kasautii Zindagi Kay) trying to win bread for the couple and their baby Palak, the man used to reportedly beat and torture her.
Not someone to bow down to injustice, Shweta stood for herself and finally divorced Raja. She single-handedly decided to bring up her daughter promising to be her father too. Going through so much at such a young age might leave many distressed but Shweta, a figure of positivity, jumped back to life. Post the low in her personal life, Shweta has managed to register great milestones in her career. Be it winning Bigg Boss 3 to playing a negative role in Begusarai, Shweta has proved that she is a true rockstar.
And as the actor turns 37 today, here we salute the woman, and hope she continues to inspire many with her strength, belief and positive attitude.
From playing a minuscule role in Kaahin Kissii Roz in 2011, Shweta became a household name by portraying the lead character of Prerna in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. Her chemistry with Anurag Basu (Cezanne Khan) was sizzling, so much that people hoped that they would end up together in real life also. While the show lasted for a long time, Shweta also tried her hand at reality shows. In 2006, she participated in Nach Baliye with (ex) husband Raja Chaudhary and in 2013, she managed to win hearts with her performance in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She also has shows like Parvarrish, Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Baal Veer and Begusarai to her credit.
Fighting her past demons
While scaling newer heights in her career, Shweta was also facing a troublesome time trying to deal with an abusive husband. A victim of domestic violence, Shweta fought hard, not just for herself but also for her daughter Palak. The actor, who reportedly was beaten by her husband for years, finally mustered enough courage and filed for a divorce. In 2007, Shweta was finally free and the court also gave her full custody of their daughter. Though Shweta had been the sole bread earner of the family for a long time, she officially became a single mother to her beautiful child. And we must add that she has brought up Palak in the most graceful way.
