Rutgers left out of NCAA Tournament for third straight season

USA: For the third straight season, the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team has been left out of the NCAA Tournament.

The Scarlet Knights were not selected as one of the final at-large teams in the 17-team field on Sunday night by the Tournament committee.

Rutgers finished the regular season 9-5 with a 2-3 record in Big Ten play. It moved on to the Big Ten Tournament as the 4 seed, but would fall to the No. 1 seed Maryland by a score of 12-9 in the semifinal.

The team graduates 14 seniors, led by Jules Heningburg, who led the Big Ten with 69 regular season points and Michael Rexrode, who was named the 2018 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
